I invite individuals to share their personal experiences of facing racism online. By sharing your stories, you contribute to a powerful collective voice that will be featured in my upcoming exhibition, Type C, I & M.
My hope is that through these real-life accounts, we can spark a change in online spaces, moving towards interactions free of racism and encouraging respectful, meaningful discussions. This exhibition will first open in Singapore and will later move to Malaysia. Let's work together to shape a digital world where everyone feels safe and heard.

Exhibition Introduction: Type C, I & M
In today’s social media landscape, subtle forms of racism often hide in plain sight, perpetuated through harmful labels that stereotype entire ethnicities. Terms like “Type C” for Chinese, “Type I” for Indian, and “Type M” for Malay have surfaced online, often carrying negative connotations that unfairly box individuals into racial categories. This exhibition, Type C, I & M, seeks to challenge these insidious trends of soft racism, shining a light on the everyday prejudice that lingers on digital platforms.
Through a collection of shared stories, personal experiences, and real examples of online racism, this exhibition aims to confront the systems that allow racism to thrive. Screenshots of discriminatory comments, alongside narratives from those who have experienced such racism, will offer an unfiltered look at the digital battleground where these harmful stereotypes are perpetuated. This exhibition invites all to reflect on the urgent need for action, advocating for a collective responsibility to challenge racism in all its forms.
Exhibition Description:
The goal of Type C, I & M is to ignite meaningful change by raising awareness of the persistent soft racism found in social media. This exhibition serves as a platform for people to share their experiences with racism, offering a voice to those whose stories are often ignored. Each piece showcased—whether it is a screenshot of a racist remark or a story from a stranger—reflects the damaging impact of racial stereotyping and the need for accountability from both governments and social media companies.
By gathering these real-world examples and stories, this movement demands that those in power take a proactive stance against racism. It calls for systemic reforms, from stricter social media regulations to more robust government policies. The aim is to foster a more inclusive digital space, where harmful labels and stereotypes are no longer tolerated, and where everyone is treated with dignity and respect.
Type C, I & M is more than an exhibition; it is a movement toward a more just and equitable world.
